Sarpa Kavu

Sarpa Kavu is a cultural-based serious game. It is a unique unit in the rural landscape of Kerala (south India), which is usually considered an effort of the neighboring society to recognize and conserve biodiversity. The theme is chosen to show the particular culture, its unique biodiversity, the beliefs, the existence of something not completely understood, the myths, and the facts of that environment. Sarpa Kavu is well known for its rich flora and vegetation. It is considered a low-level evergreen forest.

Vigraha Sanidhi is the main temple where all the statues of the Gods lie. It is the final destination of the game Sarpa Kavu. The gameplay allows the user to explore the environment and gather more information on each type of element found in the game. The user needs to gather all the information available to reach the final destination - Vigraha Sanidhi, where the game ends.   If the user does not gather the information & increase their score,  the game doesn't allow them to reach Vigraha Sanidhi. Vigraha Sanidhi consists of several 3D models such as a few statues of the Hindu deities - Naga Vigraham,  Kal Vigraham, a Nila Villaku (traditional lamp), a peepal tree along with Naga Raja - The protector of Sarpa Kavu. The Peepal tree is associated with Yama, the god of death. Therefore, it is considered the soul of the place  – never dies and never renews itself.
