VERTICAL CITIES

Vertical Cities is a data collection app created to support academic research by gathering sensor data from invited volunteers. Developed for the Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD), the app focuses on aiding researchers in understanding urban environments and contributing to the design of sustainable, green, high-density vertical cities.

The project involved crafting a logo and designing the user interface graphics to align with the app's purpose and SUTD’s vision. The logo, developed using Adobe Illustrator, symbolizes the concept of futuristic urban living with a strong emphasis on sustainability. The design elements highlight the balance between innovation, nature, and high-density living spaces. Similarly, the user interface graphics, designed using Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator, prioritize clarity and functionality to ensure an intuitive experience for volunteers while visually reflecting the theme of green urban development.

The app’s primary functionality revolves around collecting real-time sensor data from participants, which is then analyzed to gain insights into factors like energy efficiency, environmental conditions, and space utilization in vertical cities. To make the app inviting and engaging, the UI design incorporates a clean and modern aesthetic with subtle green and blue tones, representing sustainability and technology.
